$7.1 Million Wrongful Death settlement

Kiesel Law LLP secures a $7.1 Million settlement against the County of Stanislaus in a contested liability motor vehicle collision.  In this case, a Sheriff’s Deputy drove his unmarked police vehicle at more than double the speed limit (121 mph) despite heavy fog that reduced visibility to 350 feet, resulting in a crash that killed one person and causing severe injuries to another. Despite the overwhelming evidence demonstrating the Deputy’s negligence, the County of Stanislaus refused to admit liability throughout the litigation, and this matter resolved only a few weeks before trial.
