For over 20 years, William Larson has been providing highly-creative, professional and compassionate representation to individuals, families, small businesses and local governments in complex personal injury, insurance, business, tax and class action litigation.

Mr. Larson began his practice in the banking, securities and family law arenas.  Approximately 20 years ago, he began litigating cases for plaintiffs and since then has limited his practice to such representation.  He brings vast experience and knowledge to his clients’ cases.  His ability to grasp technical and legal nuances has led to great success in numerous, diverse cases.

Mr. Larson has been a name partner in Kiesel Boucher Larson LLP since its inception in April 1999.  Prior to that, he and Mr. Kiesel were principals in Kiesel & Larson, which began in 1993.

Mr. Larson has successfully tried and arbitrated numerous cases in state and federal courts and has argued many times before California’s courts of appeal.

SIGNIFICANT MATTERS

•    Co-counsel in a construction defect class action in Las Vegas, Nevada involving sub-slab plumbing leaks in approximately 3,000 homes due to thermo-galvanic corrosion.  Case resolved the day before commencing trial for $22.5 million, the largest construction defect result in Nevada history at that time.

•    Co-counsel in a class action against the largest health care service plan in California for improper mid-year contract modifications.  Successfully developed the legal theory that allowed the class to prevail.  After arbitration on liability issues, the case resolved for over $22 million.  Class members received 100 percent of their actual damages after payment of attorney fees and costs.

•    Co-counsel for thousands of homeowners in the Santa Clarita area for defective potable water plumbing.  Participated in year-long mediation process.  Drafted the complex documentation necessary for the actions to resolve for over $41 million, which allowed the homeowners to re-plumb their homes.

•    Successfully oversaw, prepared and coordinated the oppositions to numerous constitutional challenges by the defendants in the Clergy abuse litigation in California

•    Coordinated and largely prepared the complex settlement contracts needed to resolve the Clergy abuse litigation in California

•    Currently representing approximately 40 California cities and counties in tax litigation against the online travel companies

•    Represented a London police officer for serious, chronic injuries sustained in a traffic collision in Southern California.  When U.K. doctors were stumped as to what was ailing him, Mr. Larson found and mobilized a team of physicians and surgeons at UCLA Medical Center who diagnosed and largely cured the client’s chronic pain through surgery.  Jury verdict in excess of $900,000.

•    Represented a man who was severely burned over his entire body, with approximately $3 million in medical bills.  Developed and presented legal theories against several business defendants and two insurance companies as to their respective responsibility resulting in payment of the medical bills and a lifetime stream of income for the client and his wife, allowing them to buy a home and provide for their young children.

•    Multi-vehicle automobile accident in which a family lost two children, and the mother and another child were seriously injured.  Successfully developed and presented legal theories and facts against the owner and driver of a commercial vehicle parked on the shoulder of the freeway, resulting in significantly increased compensation to the family.

•    Wrongful death claim on behalf of parents whose adult daughter was killed in a multi-party automobile versus big-rig accident.  Established liability of a trailer company, which increased compensation to the plaintiffs by $3 million to just under $4 million.
