Elaine Mandel specializes in wrongful death, significant personal injury and class action matters. She has been at the firm since 2000.
Ms. Mandel is A-V rated by Martindale Hubbell. She has sat on the Los Angeles County Bar Association Board of Trustees since 2003. She is currently on the Board of Governors of the Women Lawyers of Los Angeles. A member of the Board of Governors of the Consumer Attorneys Association of Los Angeles since 1997, Ms. Mandel chaired the group's Education Committee for seven years and received the President's Award for outstanding service to the organization four times. Since 1999, she has served as a volunteer mediator on the Los Angeles Superior Court Alternative Dispute Resolution Panel. Ms. Mandel was appointed by then-Governor Gray Davis to the Uniform Law Commission, on which she sat from 2003-2007. Since 2002, she has served as a public member of the UCLA Brain Injury Research Center Advisory Board.
Ms. Mandel received her J.D. from UCLA in 1992. She was named Outstanding Advocate in the annual Roscoe Pound Moot Court competition and received the American Jurisprudence award in Moot Court. Ms. Mandel was an extern for the late Harry L. Hupp, District Court Judge for the Central District of California. She received her undergraduate degree, Phi Beta Kappa, Magna Cum Laude, College Honors, in History/Art History, from UCLA in 1989. As an undergraduate, she was both a Regents Scholar and an Alumni Scholar and was on the Dean's List each of her four years.
Prior to joining Kiesel, Boucher & Larson LLP, she practiced at the Long Beach firm of Stolpman, Krissman, Elber, Mandel & Katzman for seven years.
